    Fault codes B1087-93 and P0A1A-87

Hi all,I replaced the belt for high pressure diesel pump but when trying to start I get error codes as in head line.
I have changed alternator, put in an extra earth cable between body/alternator,checked the signal cable to battery module system and is ok.
When trying to start there is only a click from engine bay(relay I guess)
Any ideas what more to check?

Maybe I dreamt it but recall that I tied up a contact house to ac pipes that was going over belt cover but cant find neither male or female contact now even with endoscope...loosing my mind?
    Maybe..
    Engine is SDV6 3.0
    Best regards/ Johnny

If the car was running/starting ok before you did the work, there's a fair chance you have left a multiplug somewhere unhooked, that'd be my first port of call, especially for the job you have done, as I think you will have had numerous plugs undone from the ECUs behind the battery.

Well, there were 4 contact housings which I separated behind battery.1 of them was to a ECU box. I have checked all housings to see if there are a backed pin but not easy to see because in box there are pins that don´t have a match in housing so I dont know if it is a backed connection or if the pin are blind. Which pin could it be?
I´m an idiot when coming to electric thing and my intension was just to change belt and thought that was hard enough but this...

From threads elsewhere for the 2 fault codes it appears that the single LIN wire from the alternator has become disconnected from the ecm. Hence look for a single wire connection that has been unplugged or dislodged somewhere in the vicinity of the ecm.

The wire length between the ecm connector and the reportedly single connector is 560mm, but noting that the cavity used is #4 so the connector housing has at least 4 cavities.

Edit: That connector has many wires. I would start with checking the wires at the alternator.

    Hi,
I have changed alternator and know for sure that main red cord got good connection and the small signal cable with contact housing well, I had to cut it and make an extension. Note:Problem was before that. Reason for extension was partly of access and also to be able to measure. However, I don´t know if signal comes from ecm to alternator or alternator gives signal to ecm and under what conditions. Full battery or battery in need of charge.?
When I push start button there is no sound but when releasing button there is a click and to loud to be relay so I guess it is from solenoid going back.
This evening I will check + feed to starter(ground has already been checked with jump cable on housing) and measure voltage vs ground.

It's a LIN bus, so it's bi-directional chat all the time. Basically an open-collector serial bus with a pull-up.

Well, how can I check if cable is broken or not if signals go both ways and only got end at alternator? have tried to find pin number in ECU but no luck yet.

Thanks. Checked connection and no backed pin.
Think I have found problem though..start with a Mega and end with a fuse..
No fuse in sweden so I had to order from UK
. Strange but should there not be a another code gor that?

    Hello Holmkiern,
I am currently struggling with the same two faults,
    B1087-93 LIN bus A
    P0A1A-87 Generator Control Module,

In this case, the faults occurred suddenly when the car had just driven onto the motorway. Have checked almost everything, but you mention a fuse that you ended up replacing. Do you remember which one you found that was blown?
