Major (7yr) service costs

Then walk away - they are not being open about the history.

If you really really like and are not prepared to keep looking, then demand a heavy discount on price and an extended warranty. Try not to buy on emotion and always walk once they give you the run around.

Being the year of vehicle you should be able to download the history

Depends on if they change the design to suit the auxiliary belt and loadings - so I would not assume this to be case. The LR part is not made by Ford.

For some reason the Territory crankshaft pulley is very expensive (like $800 - don’t quote me on this as have only seen one price). I don’t know if it is special or they just sell so few of them.

It is actually the LR dealer who is unable to provide the full service history on a vehicle they most likely took as trade in on another vehicle they probably sold to one of their clients.

I think that tells you all you need to know.

As I understand it, dealers only have access to service records within their own dealer group, plus whatever has been uploaded to Topix. In this case, the dealer may be being perfectly honest when they say they they don't have the service history. And Topix only shows the last service. My advice to the OP is to ascertain the original dealer from the handbook and approach them. If there's no handbook and given the known history of the car, I'd walk away.

I have searched the forum, but haven’t been able to come up with what I am looking for.

A little while back, I had this service done on my mid 2014 D4 HSE at 100,000 kms with my local Indy. I also had a number of items serviced, including the transmission. The service was early in terms of kms, but not age, and we we’re about to head off on an extended multi month trip towing over some reasonably rugged terrain in some remote locations, so figured it was best to get it done.

I went with the Indy as they had a good rep on here and I hadn’t been overly impressed with the dealer, where it had been serviced until the end of the extended warranty.

I was a little surprised at the overall cost of the service, ($7k) as per the attached, and so now, before I go back to the Indy for the next service, I want to get a feel from you good folk as to whether what I was charged was reasonable for what was done. I am not seeking to dispute the charges, just want to make an informed decision before deciding whether I keep going to the Indy or look elsewhere.

Picked up my D4 this evening following the completion of the 7 year service. Total cost just under $4k, including transmission service.

My mechanic managed the job without having to do it body off so I think that saved a few hours of labour (extra cost replaced by using mirrors, stuggling with tight spaces & swearing).
