High pressure fuel pump fault?? D3 tdv6

My Disco just went into limp mode whilst driving along the Highway..I stopped it and restarted it and all good.. I did a scan with my Gap tool and got this code

    P2290-00 (2F) Injector control pressure
    too low

The previous owner said he had issues with it going into limp mode and when I bought the car I scanned it and got this code..along with some other random codes

P0191-24 (28) Fuel rail pressure sensor
    range/performance
    - General signal
    failure
    - signal stays high

The alternator was replaced just after I bought it as it failed and I was hoping that was the cause of the faults..
From what I read good chances it’s the high pressure fuel pump. Has anyone got any ideas before I go and buy the pump?

    Thanks

Good chance that it's the HPFP, a number of people have tried replacing the rail sensor in case it was that, from memory it never was.

That said, I don't think anyone reported the sensor fault you just have.

FWIW I've just had a mate recon a HPFP on one and so far I believe it's fine.

    Cheers

Thanks, I’m thinking it’s the pressure regulating valve in the pump, hence the high pressure code and now the low pressure code..I believe they stick..
I too have heard lots trying the rail sensor with no success so looks like it’s a pump replacement for me.
Good to hear it worked for you mate.
    Cheers
