    Upper tailgate jammed

    I have the upper tailgate jammed it will unlock . go to the first latch but wont fully release . any hints
    ?

    try locking and unlocking while someone pulls on the tailgate.

    Might be messy, but presuming you can get into the rear compartment via the back doors.

    Oh, I have heard that if the actuator is on the way out, then it could be that slightly lower battery voltage can be a problem. Ensure battery is fully charged.

    I had the same experience and saw on this forum to press the tailgate release button and the remote unlock at the same time. Worked for me. I had been planning to have it looked at at the next service due in a few weeks after a few false starts but it beat me to it. Had new parts fitted within a few days at my indy who fitted me in at short notice.

    Could be the upper tail gate hasp is a bit loose ; pull like blazes, then check everything is in its correct place and tighten.

    I reckon it’s the actuator giving you warning of its imminent failure.
    I think you should just replace the actuator. I had both my upper actuator and latch replaced last year. Each item cost $104.

    Upper tailgate jammed

    Same here last year. Actuator failing.
    Easy enough to replace DIY - video instructions on YouTube.

    Yup , Actuator stuffed local LR is $120. for gen part , just need to pull it apart
