    Alternator loose bracket?

I've had an annoying buzz from my engine that developed not long ago - the sort of buzz that something loose makes. Anyway when it first came up I had a poke around and seen a couple of the timing belt cover bolts where loose so assumed that was it. Wasn't to worried and figured I'd sort it out at the next service. Anyway today I've been changing out the AC compressor so while all the belts and fan are off I figured it's the perfect time to have a decent look. Well I was quite surprised to see the alternator moving around as it was loose. The whole bracket it bolts to including the tensioner is moving around. Looks like one of the top bolts is missing so it's either come loose and falled out or the bolt has sheared. Anyway I'll find out some more tomorrow as I'll pull it all apart and figure out what's gone wrong. Just wanted to share what I've found here to see if anyone else has had something similar happen to them.

I'll post a quick video up a little later so you all can see

Yeah, but I cant remember pulling out the alternator. In all fairness it must have been 6, nearly 7 years ago since I've changed it

It looks like the bracket is broken at the top. Watch it move in the video.

Bracket not broken, just the bolts holding it to the block. One bolt was missing, two others snapped off in the block

You can barely fit a little spanner in that neck of the woods let alone anything big enough to snap bolts so it’s mysterious.
