Checking the link I posted from AF, there are only 2 o2 sensors on the V8, both post cat, lh and rh. Part no ending in 910. I note that there are lambda sensors as well, part no ending in 960. This for all markets except USA. Therefore i would assume that AU D3 V8s have only 2 sensors. Both share same part no, so bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor 2 makes sense to me.. . Perhaps its the lambda sensor on babk 2 that has failed, not the o2?
An O2 sensor is a lambda sensor. The terms are interchangeable. Generally there are narrow band and wide band sensors. Narrow act as a voltage switch around the stoichiometric ratio whereas wide band vary voltage based on the actual AFR. I’m not sure why they’re referring to them with different terms on the diagram you’re discussing unless they’re using the terms to indicate between narrow and wideband types
