Suggestions for under seat thin subwoofer location

    Hi all,

I have a Fusion CP-AS1080 8" Slim Active Subwoofer and have been looking to add it to the Disco 3.

I feel the most useful place is probably under the middle, middle seat however, it seems to prevent the seat from folding completely flat.

Has anyone installed something similar at all?

    Thanks
    Michael

Not 100% on the D3, but why not use a 'proper' sub in the factory location in the boot?

There should already be a sub in the lower tailgate so if its faulty i'd replace it with the new sub.

What ^^^ these guys said, but if I were trying to install a slim sub in a sub-optimal location (see what I did there??). I'd be pulling off one of the rear boot side covers and putting it in there. If you have rear A/C then the passenger side is full, and if you have the RSE then the drivers side is full. But if you had either of those then you'd already have the factory sub in the tailgate.

If you have the base-bass model, then either is free but then you'd also have room under the drivers (no MOST bus Amp) and passenger (no DVD/NAV) seats.

A quick google for the manual of the model indicates it's 600 Chinese watts and 100 real watts with built in crossover, so it'll be an interesting mix with the existing sound system. I read some reviews but didn't go in too far because on-line reviews are not incredibly "reliable".

It's going to be a serious case of "it depends" and "depending" on where you mount it. What sound system do you have in the car right now and how do you intend to hook it up?

I have a D3 poverty pack and it has a big empty hole in the lower tailgate where a subwoofer would be fitted.
Don't know if this helps or not.

Mine is base SE stereo and no sub. Doors and tweeters only but I’ve always thought it sounds really good just in base format as handles volume well. Then again I’m a stereo luddite.

Mine's the SE with small monochrome screen and HK stereo, no sub. Did a Decibel Drag race with my mates HSE MY11, no real difference in dB output, no discernible sound difference either.

If I was going to install a sub, I'd be looking for the closest size and best possible quality that would fit in the factory space in the rear door.

Really? Sub vs no Sub and no difference?

Did you test with 'The Chipmunks greatest hits'?
