    Burning oil

I'm using (burning) more oil that I expected - just checked after about 2,000km and the level is down three 'notches' from full. Admittedly, this was using the shortcut method on a near cold engine (bonnet open, cruise cancel button 2x)

Any other mid-high km 3.0L owners experiencing the same thing? I have about 220k on this girl, for reference.

    Do I need to worry?

Measure it on a oil change,

Pull the intercooler pipe off and make sure it's not the turbo seals putting it in the intake

If you haven't had the turbo drain mod pipe done, it will be dumping oil into the turbo exhaust, into the inlet and down the exhaust. For me it was a tell-tale oul spatter out the back of the exhaust pipes onto my garage floor. Since the drain pipe mod, no issues and no significant oil used between services.

As stated remove the intercooler pipe from the air control valve (for sdv6 3.0l) and drain any oil from there as well.

Check the level a couple more times without topping-up to see if you get the same results.

    Cheers all, I’ll keep monitoring.

Turbo pipe has been done, and there was about the expected oil removed at service time (ie, a fair bit more than the 5L container could hold).

Probably just automotive hypochondria playing up on account of the crank thread :-)
