Hi/low solenoid how to get it back in?

    Hi All,
I've removed and rebuild my DD295 transfer case using a good guide from the RR forum. All went well except the guy who wrote the teardown guide said I had to remove the shift solenoid and it can only be put back in in it's energised state requiring a service tool of some sort which I don't have. A bit annoyed having pulled it off for no reason, didn't affect the bearing and seal replacement. I was thinking of cutting the wires to the plug and energising the solenoid, but not sure what voltage it runs at??? guessing 12v. Any other ideas? I tried connecting the car battery up again and shifting with the selector switch but it just threw up a heap of alarms and won't allow it. Hopefully once I get it in again I can clear any codes and carry on. Thanks

I'd post up on the disco3 UK forum as you are more likely to find someone that has been down that road.

Hey Nick, cheers mate. I posted there and someone said just put 12v to it, I made up a little cable and applied 12v and it popped out and fitted easily. Now gotta sort this terrible clunking sound on full lock, recalibration needed HOPEFULLY, and not some mechanical thing I've screwed up when building the box.
