    TCM - Transmission 8spd P0826-2A Fault Code

    Gents,

    Have a 2015 model D4 from new however today it threw its first fault code. Tried resetting with the IID tool however as soon as the engine is started P0826-2A fault code is presented. No recent work has been done on the vehicle used mostly for towing and not a daily driver.
    The google machine has not been helpful in giving me any pointer where to start with investigating this and was hoping the collective here would be able to provide some direction.

    Have you tried operating both paddles a few times?

    Yes, the dash pop up states the paddle will be disabled which I then tested a few times on each side which turned out they are not working. The speed cruise control is also disabled and I assume the control system has done this for some reason as well.

    The so-called clock-spring loom in the centre of the steering wheel might have developed a fault if multiple switches don't work properly.

    Thanks for the response this gives me somewhere to start and makes sense as I assume this is a moving part of sorts. Will try more buttons to see if others are affected and find what I can online about the clock-spring loom with a view to removing the steering wheel next week and see if I can locate any fault.

    The instrument warning "Gearbox Paddles Disabled"" appears when I place the unit in the Drive.

    The wiring harness is moved about with every movement of the steering wheel which makes it vulnerable to having wires broken.

    Located what appears to be good instructions on the Disco 3 UK site and will use those to remove the clock spring. Have ordered a replacement in anticipation and will update the thread once I have removed and possibly replaced the clock spring.

    Thanks for the advice. Today I replaced the clock spring assembly and the fault is cleared and also have cruise control.
