    D3 Intermittent AC Blower.

The AC blower stops working periodically. It will stop then start again. Seems to be no pattern. No faults recorded. AC nice and cold when blower is working. Ideas?

I think it’s broken D3 Intermittent AC Blower.

Looking around online it seems they do fail.

I replaced fusible link 12 in the engine compartment fuse box. The one with the fan symbol. Wasn’t sure which fan it referred to. The fusible link wasn’t blown but the AC is working again. Time will tell if this was the reason or just a coincidence. Got to love intermittent faults

A fuse won’t give intermittent behaviour

I thought that it may have had a bad connection. Working again last night. Not this morning then stared up halfway along main beach Moreton Is. Not working again after we stopped.

Among some of the more odd reasons, it could be that the brushes in the blower motor are worn to the point it takes a knock to get it started.

Do you have a DMM and know how to use it? If it's not working, then the diagnostic becomes dead simple. Follow the electrons and the fault lies where they stop.

There's not much in the circuit. Blower, speed controller (which is just a transistor used as a variable resistor), relay, fuse and battery.

I swapped relay 16 with the washer wiper relay. Hasn’t stopped working since.

The ac continues to work. So it appeared to be a “sticking” relay.
    I like cheap fixes.
