    Air Suspension proplem on a 2008 D3 155k

    HI all,
I have a fault light on the bottom left of the dash, amber in color.
It pops up 10 second after the car is started and stays there until engine is switched off. When the car is stated the rear air bags go to normal height, but the front air bags stay right down the bottom. looks sporty but not. No leaks on the system I could find using soapy water.
Is there a shuttle cock on the compressor to feed the front and rear air system separately? One of which is seized.
Any suggestion on what it could be, would be grateful or a trip to the LR dealer?

The front valve block is supplied from the reservoir valve block along with the rear valve block. The valves in the front block may be contaminated by pulverised dessicant from the dryer or there could be an electrical fault. You need to have the fault codes read to help avoid guessing. Anyone nearby with a GAP IIDtool should be able to read the fault codes.

There is a section for people with diagnostic tools that may be able to assist.

    Still chasing a gap tool.
    Anybody have one please.
I suspect a compressor pressure switch as the compressor runs from another supply.

I'm a fair way from you in Fremantle and mine is for my D4, plus I'm no diagnostic expert (but do have the operating manual),. You are more than welcome to try it. I'm retired so pretty flexible timewise providing I know you are coming.

I’m about the same distance in the opposite direction - the hills towards Mundaring.

    Happy to assist though

The front valve block is under the right side of the front bumper just ahead of the wheel behind the liner, pushed onto 3 prongs with rubber grommets.

Ensure that the electrical connector is correctly fitted.
Remove the supply line then check for air coming out when the engine is started. If no air then there's a blockage at the reservoir valve, but probably OK.
Remove the valve block, noting which coloured line goes where (take a picture). Dismantle the valve block, being careful to note the location of the o-rings. Clean the valves of any pulverised dessicant then re-assemble to see if the front rises.
