    For the few who own 4 l V6s.

    This is a strip down of a 4L v6 as fitted to Explorers but also D3.
    It speaks for itself.
    The old 3 l V6 pushrod version in the Capri was pretty good but it was developed within an inch of its life later. The jackshaft is what was the camshaft.

    PS change your oil often not at Factory intervals.
    Have a look at that chain at 12:09. Ugly, but I guess he had been turning it over backwards at one point...

    I haven't watched the video, however I always understood the Jackshaft to be the small shaft usually shorter than the camshaft which is used to drive other components, eg, usually the distributor, but can be also the oil pump.
    Before: Ser 2a LWB, Ser 3 S/W, 1979 RR 2 door, 1981 LR Stage 1 V8 (new), 1985 LR 110 V8 County (new), 2009 RRS TDV8
    Now: MY13 D4 TDV6. "E" rear diff. Cambo's magic Engine & Auto Tune. 1968 Austin 1800 Mk1 auto (my 5th)
