Question 2.7 TDV6 diesel fuel leak around rear injectors

Our MY12 D4 with the 2.7 TDV6 is leaking diesel around the rear injector area on the passenger side of the engine bay. A diesel smell is noticeable outside of the vehicle after driving and sometimes even inside the cabin, particularly for the front seat passenger.

With the covers (engine cover and heat shielding) off and engine either running or off, there is no visible sign of exactly where it is leaking out of. It is however wet around that area (noticeably a different colouring than that of the other side of the engine bay) with some pooling of liquid visible.

There looks to be a loose plastic yellow piece lying down there too (highlighted with the yellow arrow on the pictures).

    Any guidance please?

The diesel injector spill lines are known to fail over time. I’ve had one side replaced on mine. It could be that?

Mine were replaced not all that long ago at 200K km engine time.

Sounds like a definite scheduled maintenance item for all TDV6. Seems about $300 part from AF

Is that part number 1386505 Tube Leak Off Includes Fuel Temperature Sensor?
Is anything else required when fitting/replacing this? Maybe 6 x LR019118 Seal Leak Off For Fuel Tube?

The small clips are easy to lose. Extras would be handy.

Shane’s Shed did a good video on YouTube how to replace.

You could do a bunch of jobs at same time. Oil cooler replacement, coolant fitting in valley, glow plugs etc.

Which are the small clips that you refer to, please?

Yep, that's the YouTube video that I linked above.

Do the oil coolers need regular preventative maintenance replacement?
Coolant fitting in the valley is replaced when the timing belts were done.
Do the glow plugs wear out/fail on these? My Td5's are on 350,000km on the original glow plugs still - if anything the their wiring loom/connectors look like they'll be the first failure point.

Were the retainer clips an issue or was I dreaming?

What were part numbers you replaced?

I didn't end up doing it myself. She and I have separated, I've let her retain the D4 and she wasn't happy to the timeline of my offer to repair it so it went to the local indie.
