    Help needed

Hi folks, very helpful forum and has guided me a lot with my d4 woes. I have been getting the following codes p22d3-77 and p22cf-71 so I have googled and found lot of advise here. I have taken the shut off valve off and cleansed it, made sure it was operating under vacuum and put a new shut off sensor in it, also replaced the solenoid that controls this and checked pipes for vacuum leaks. After doing this I have now got the following codes p00bd-07 and p0033-00(permanent). If I remove a vacuum pipe the car drives ok until 2nd turbo is required and p0033-00 is a pending code. With the vacuum back on I get restricted performance pretty much all the time. As you can probably tell I am really struggling with this one and greatly appreciate any help.

Note that there are two solenoids, one for each turbo.

Have you checked the air control valve (the one that opens as the secondary turbo is needed? These can stick as well.

Check all vac lines, the joiners get brittle and break or crack, the lines perish too.

Otherwise it's the turbo itself, the actuator inside gets stuck

FWIW my turbo boost pressure sensor failed unexpectedly the other day whilst my mate was using car. Didn't get to see the codes, he organised and fitted a new one (2 min job) so I have no idea what problems would have been experienced.

    Vaz1984,

it does sound like one of the issues I had. Basically the turbo actuator was RS - seen plenty of videos where the actuator can be 'freed' up but I didn't have any luck. Basically ended up replacing turbo. not cheap as body off in most instances. I found a place in Melb. that supplied the turbo for under 2k which was comparable to shipping in from UK .

Thanks for the reply’s folks, I have now managed to get the turbo to work occasionally but now get error of maf sensor airflow high and turbo valve stuck open! If I disconnect the vacuum going to the 2nd turbo valve car drives fine and no errors unless I accelerate hard. Have checked vacuum for leaks and have taken the 2 nd turbo valve off and cleaned it and replaced the sensor on it and the vacuum solenoid going to it but have not found the other solenoid available to buy to replace it. Sorry for the delay in response as have not had a chance to look at it again
