thanks, it is pretty hard to check, one needs to make up very thin probes, but I am sure that there is voltage up there, I will go make some probes, I do have a Fluke clamp meter, probes are too heavy but will grind some old probes down, everything is a mission as i lost most of the use of my left hand,
thank you for replying

only 3.6 volts, not enough to light up the lil' red light
I really don’t think that 3.6v is enough to power the motor. My thoughts would be:
1) poor connection on one of the connections (corrosion or a pin has come loose)
2) a power wire has rubbed through and is partially earthing
3) faulty switch - check the pre switch voltage
4) bad connection at the fuse. Check voltage at the fuse also.
5) bad earth, although I can’t see why any other part on the circuit would be earthed except the window motor and the battery
6) can you check the voltage on one of the other window motors that work fine?
Can anyone else think of some other reason?

So just to be clear, have you replaced the switch module with a new one?
