    Unlock flashes

Normally when I unlock the D3 I get one long flash on the indicators. Today I got 5 (or 7 but I think it was five) rapid flashes. I pushed unlock again and got the same thing. Lock gave the three flashes and the next unlock gave the normal single flash.

I can find no reference to this behaviour in the manual or anywhere within my google-fu. Anyone have any ideas?

    Unlock flashes

8 rapid flashes when unlocking means the alarm was activated since last armed.

If the alarm goes off whilst you are away it resets after 30s, so this way you know it was activated for some reason.

Bonnet not fully latched closed the most likely reason. Mine used to activate in strong winds due to the bonnet moving.

Edit: and yes - it is in the owners manual under Locks & Alarms.

Or, the bonnet is just fine, but the bonnet switch is failing… Common failure.

If this is the first time you’ve seen it, may not be anything to worry about?

It is also worth checking the doors are actually locking, I had the driver's door lock fail once but I didn't realise until one day I pulled the door open while the car was "locked" setting off the alarm.
