    Fob not Activating Central Locking.

I changed the car battery yesterday. Now the key fob won’t activate the central locking. The buttons in the vehicle work. I’ve checked fuse 49 (central locking) and fuse 40 (key sense) also fusible links 11 and 17 which are in the central locking circuit. All are good. The fob still starts the vehicle so would it do that if the fob battery was flat? Any ideas? Thanks.

Have you got a gap tool? You could try recoding the key?

Try that if possible otherwise yes it could be the battery in the fob, although you should see the message about low fob battery in the message centre when you start the vehicle.

I currently have a fun issue with my FOB - neither of mine work, but take the circuitry of of the FOB case (which I did to check and see if the battery soldering had come loose) and they both work with no issues? Anyone have any wise ideas for this?

Check the 3 buttons on the fob itself push in enough while you have it apart, and make sure they line up properly with the circuit buttons.

I'll have a look into that. The FOB's used to work, but both started playing up slowly over a similar time frame so I think there may possibly be more going on

    Unfortunately reprogramming didn’t work.

A Nanocom can test for key detect. Can the GAP tool do this? Could be the RF receiver failed when the change of battery might have spiked it. Total guess, but hey....

I replaced the receiver soon after I got mine in an effort to find out why the FOBs wouldn't work. PITA!

Mine ended up being FOB batteries that would start the car and not show in the message centre that they needed charging. My next suggestion is change FOB batteries.
