I already had the blanks that came with the new fobs. A local locksmith has now cut the blanks ($35 apiece) to fit and all keys work as they should. A total success for a grand total of just under $75 per key (Fob + key cutting). It's unlikely that I will ever need more blanks, but it's good to know that blanks are Ford HU101.

    Good news.
How difficult was the GAP tool process…was it quite self explanatory?
Would appreciate a quick summary…my keys have the blasted rubber coming loose and anytime soon will probably fall right off.

How old is your vehicle? About $25 for a new genuine fob case from LR and it’s easy to transfer across all the internals. This is for the newer style fob without a blade

    Thanks
Mines a 2016…key had a blade hidden in it.
Maybe I’ll give LR a ring

Yep that’s the easy one. The hidden blade and internal circuit board complete with battery all gets transferred across to the new case/cover. I have had mixed results with the eBay covers so now just stay with genuine ones

I’ve just paid $40 for a replacement one (looked original on website…will see when it arrives soon)

I don’t understand the price disparity. Mine is LR052882 and nearly three times the price
