    APT vs Terrafirma Rock Sliders

Putting aside availability and supporting an Aussie company.

Interested to know what the difference is between the APT rock sliders and the TF818 rock sliders.

We all know APT are excellent quality and well engineered - but what is the quality of the Terrafirma product, and is there a big weight difference?

Its a moot point now that APT are no longer manufacturing 4wd accessories.

They are, just direct to distributors no direct sales.

    To answer OP:
TF is chinesium steel, APT is Bluescope

…..putting aside availability…..(assume you can get either second hand or have access to new old stock or APT have just closed their shopfront but can make to order for a higher price).

Correct. They also sound like they now just make in batches when they have enough orders.

So has anyone got experience with the TF818 rock sliders?

I have the TF809 Discovery 2 rick sliders. When sliding on a rock, they bnt up and stopped the driver's door from opening. They look good but maybe not as firm as I'd like.

Are these related to those Rick rollers?

    Rockslidere

I have put a second hand set of Terrafirma rock sliders on my D4. They came off a D3 so slightly longer than D4 specific ones. They fit well but needed to remove the plastic cover at front. They are heavy buggers and taken a few bumps and manage well. No issues so far

    Thanks for the feedback.

By the way the rock sliders are the same for the D3 and D4 and the fitting instructions say you need to remove some plastic from the back of the front trim panel to be able to refit it.
