    I decided, based on the feedback from my Indy that the LH front CV was worn as is common on these, and given now the RH has split a boot, and 350,000km of use, that I’d buy two new front shafts and DIY them. Went the aftermarket path. $385 each.

    Will fit them some time in the next month.

    Get a 22mm socket and a breaker and get that wheel off.

    Thats not broken, the wheel brace "just failed to proceed".

    They have a safety margin of 1Nm above the specified wheel nut torque.

    The trick though is to use a 6 point socket only not 12 not to destroy the nuts.

    This factory tool works really well in that regard just excessively weak. Mine went same way but found another at a wrecker.

    I carry a breaker bar with a socket permanently under back seats as fighting wheel nuts is such a pain in the back.
