I think that will work, i have an engine crane here if you need something to lift it with.

SupporterHi, has anyone removed the body on their D3 without using a 2 post hoist? I'm thinking that the body could be lifted away from the chassis using jacks and then supported on a couple of lateral beams spaced wide enough to roll the chassis out. With a body weight of about 1200kg I could fabricate some supports from something like 50x50 RHS steel to do the job.
Any thoughts?

SupporterIIRC There are jacking points on the body that are tucked up away from the sill. You would need uprights on your lateral beam to pick these up.
It may be easier to find a "men's shed" that has a hoist, or there's garage places that allow you to rent the space including a hoist, or if funds are not limited, install your own hoist.
