Air leak somewhere. Shock, air line, valve block, compressor?????
Vehicle will not raise or lower suspension with a door open that is why it will stop making the noise.
Spray bottle with soapy water is you best bet.

Im new to this site and respectfully need some help. I have a 2007 Disco 3 TDV6 which is totally disabled. Im sure it is a short or broken wire issue which I have not found yet. However whilst under the rear of the car I can hear a whistling/whining noise somewhere around the left side of the EPB somewhere. It's not the EPB as I unplugged and still happened. If I open a door it stops and when I remove the suspension fuse it stops. Fairly sure it's the suspension somewhere but cannot pinpoint. Any ideas please.

						Thanks Ray, ill get soaping.
Compressor is right under the left hand rear passenger door so take the cover off (3 x 10mm bolts) and check the 3 pipe connections, most likely one of the 2 on the end of the compressor drier (black plastic cylinder).

Hi Paul,
If you are suspicious of a broken wire, then the most well known and common location is inside the left rear wheel, behind the upper control arm, on top of the chassis rail, there is 2 large connectors, about a dozen wires in each. There is a plastic guard that chaffs on the cluster of wires. It will most likely require cleaning and close inspection of the wires as the chaffing will wear one side of the insulation and through the wire however the other part of the insulation can make it appear as though the wire is not broken. This was part of a land rover service notification. This will have nothing to do with the whistling noise...
