Removed the sump double checked the linkage was located properly and it was. Cleaned the metronic connector. tried clearing the codes but still nothing wont start cant shift out of park. I dont know whats going on. im out of ideas

If you removed the metatronics, did you line up the shift mechanism?

Check that you didn't bend pins in the metatronics when fitting the plug
It doesn't leak oil, Its sweating power

I had same error messages after i fitted sonnax zip kit to gearbox. Turned out electrical plug not seated correctly even though i was sure it was. Tricky spot where that plug is. So i would concentrate on the plug and wiring.

I mentioned this to him on his disco3 forum post but he said it was clean and seated correctly.

How full was the transmission when you started? I filled mine to the drain plug. Also, I assume the valve body wasn't split and the solenoids replaved? Check all solenoids are connected properly.

Trany was fully. I did a flush before dropping the pan and replacing zip seals. The car started and ran but still got the F fault ocassionly. So removed the valve body and replaced the zip seals, i didnt split the valve body or touch or replace the solanoids, filled trany till dripped out filler plug tried to start it to warm up the tranny fluid wounldnt start or turn over and got the E fault

Any further details on the E code? When I did my ZF HP28 I had one of the solenoids in the wrong slot(full valve body rebuild including separator plate and zip kit etc) , this threw a code that the gear selected was incorrect, was an A code if I remember correctly, and I believe it's A through F for each gear or clutch pack. If this holds true, then its an issue withthe 5thh gear clutch pack, so it could be a faulty solenoid or zip seal on that line.

Usually with a trans related fault you get an F dash error code not E so i think your problem lies elsewhere.
