SupporterHi, how do I know if I have an Open Diff or a E diff, I couldn’t see a starter motor thing on top of the diff as per WSM Diagram, I do have a gap tool if that helps.

SupporterThank you, I have an open diff, changed the oil and needed to know because each diff has a different quantity of oil.

In my opinion, the easiest way to confirm is to visually inspect and feel above the diff for the locking unit. There are plenty of pictures online of what it looks like.
