    Air con being weird

I'm on a caravanning trip around SA, and the air con is weird. Works well most of the time, no matter what the outside temp is, but when the sun is beaming through the windscreen it has very little cooling when on auto.
If I switch to fan control it improves considerably.
Is this a problem with the sun sensor, if so, where is it?

The main sensor is in the middle of the dashboard, about 10cm back from the windscreen. (There's also another left of the steering wheel.)

I've noticed that if my stick-on window mount for my nav tablet shades the dash sensor, it messes with the auto settings because the car thinks it's in the shade. It can appear random, because the angle changes as you drive.

Perhaps you've got something similar going on?

    Thanks Retail
You were correct. My dash mat had slipped over the top of it and messed with the settings. Fixed and air con much improved. I might pull out the air sensor near the steering wheel and give that a clean.
