						Hi All.
Is the centre diff in the D4 transfer case either locked or unlocked, or is it like the rear eDiff, in that it has variable lock up?
If it's either locked or unlocked, is it locked in all terrain modes other than road?
Other than "Rocks & Ruts" calling for off road hight and low range, are the the different Terrain Response modes just how aggressive the traction control kicks in?
Where does the eDiff fit in to all this? Is it controled by the traction control, or does it just sit in the back doing its own thing?
Thanks
Tony

The centre diff is variable locking at whatever percentage the car decides, and is most locked in Rock mode as you don't want a lifted and spinning wheel to come down to a virtual stop on a rock and shatter a cv, etc. The traction control also alters the engine, suspension and gearbox programmes. For, a quick demo put it Sand mode and see how peppy acceleration is from a standstill.

SubscriberTransfer case is variable with its lock up, it does vary depending on what terrain response is selected, rock crawl is the best for full lock up and most responsive TC
Sand always takes me a bit to get used to as I don’t do a lot of sand driving so always seem to get stuck easily on the first day of it, after that I seem to suss it out a bit, personally I think the accelerator response is to aggressive which takes a bit to get used to so you don’t just bog down, I never had issues on sand in the old Disco 1 which is a near unstoppable weapon on soft sand
