    CV boots

    Is anyone else struggling with front CV boots?

    I’m about to replace my front left for the 3rd time in 50k km…!!

    Nope, changed the whole RF shaft as it was quicker than doing just the boot about 2 years ago , LF got a gkn boot kit from the UK and replaced them last year - first time they were replaced.

    IIRC the outer RH front split/tore years ago and recently the left front inner split right near the shaft so my mechanic put a cable tie around it until it could be replaced to keep dirt out of it.

    My left hand front boots split a while back. As the CVs themselves were OK I could not be bothered pulling the shaft out so used split boots that are welded (glued) together.

    They have been on for 40,000km and are working fine.
