    STBY for the code list.
Fingers crossed, i'd image there would be a lot of oil soaked sensors giving false readings etc.

Perhaps you could post it again, Graeme. I'd certainly be interested.

Must say, I expected the car would be smarter than to allow the engine to be started when the oil is overfilled. This must be one of the benefits of an electronic oil level thing? Maybe they do, but not if the engine has been running.

Even if only to give an extra warning - "Are you sure you want to..."

Veebs, Indeed! That page only comes up on two occasions. On initial start and after you sit for a little bit and do the "Oil Fill" routine. Wouldn't it be great if "OVERFILL" triggered a no start occurrence like not in P or N. The boffins added a syphon tube for easy access to remove oil by vacuum, why not a line of code?

To add to the conversation. Looked everywhere within GAP diagnostics for an application for checking individual injector pressures or cylinder pressures, no avail. Contacted GAP, they replied this feature was removed by Land Rover in 2010...CURSES!

Using diagnostics and live values. Using the EGT for bank 1 and bank 2. Bank 2 temp goes up bank 1 stays flat. Everything is on bank 1. Listening down the oil cap on start up there is a sound of something making a contact... a thump? Induction sounds like a miss like a cylinder not having the right "suction"? Either way, methinks body is coming off and lifting the RH head and see what I've got. Good news for me is the engines doesnt sound like it has destroyed itself in this process. Bad news is its going to take a bit of time.

I've never seen any way of measuring pressures. The 2.7L did have the ability to look at the injector balance, which can give a bit of extra diagnostic info. The injection system on the 3L (which is completely different to that on the 2.7) doesn't provide that info.

The injectors are a piezo stack actuator which have to be driven open and closed, so never unplug them while they're running because it is possible for one to be stuck open if you happen to unplug it before it gets a chance to close. I know that sounds improbable, but I did read it in a Siemens document on the 2.7 so I've kinda taken it as gospel.

Nothing says you can't unplug an injector then start and stop the engine however. That'd be the quickest way to locate the problematic cylinder.

I haven't done a compression test on a V6 disco, but on other diesels I've used adapters for either the glowplug or injector holes.

When it’s below 2700rpm (or something close) only the small turbo is engaged so you will only see one bank active. That’s normal

Also be aware, the EGT's could have been coated in oil.
