    Disco 4 Air Con. Issue

Looking for information on replacing the Air Conditioning System Expansion TX Valve on my D4.
I believe it is located behind the dash.
Has anyone done this and if so what was involved?

    Thank you in advance.
    Mick.

On a D3 the dash has to come out, not a fun job, many many hours of labour.

I've seen reference to a D4 being able to have the valve replaced by accessing it from the left hand footwell.

    I can't verify this unfortunately.

Has the valve been diagnosed as faulty?

    Thank you for your reply.
    Sounds like a fun job
I hope you are correct about it being accessible from the passenger side.
I have done a fair bit of Googling on the subject in the hope that there might be one
or more YouTube clips on it, but thus far I have had very little success.
Yes, according my AC man the valve is faulty.

    Cheers, Mick

I’m sure your AC guy knows what he’s doing, but you’ll be the first to have a faulty TX valve I’ve seen on here. Most Disco AC issues are actually lack of gas or the displacement valve on the compressor becomes sticky and causes it to stop cooling. You would be wise to get a second opinion.
