Hello..... question regarding the jump starting capability of the Traxide (USI-160) BMS system. I have two auxiliary batteries, and understand that these can be used to jump start my flat start battery by simply ensuring the isolator switch is in the 'shared mode' position. This does not seem to happen, even though both the aux batteries are fully charged. Is there a procedure/sequence involving the isolator switch which will allow this to happen? The USI-160 manual does not make this clear to me. Thanks. ps.... is it ok to simply jump start with cables from my front auxiliary batt without disconnecting the terminals??
Hi Tin Lizzy, to activate the Jump-Start function on the USI-160, set the Toggle Switch on the In-Cab module towards the LED.
Then switch it away from the LED and then back again towards the LED and the LED will glow constantly to indicate the batteries are linked together.
They will remain linked for 20 seconds.
Try starting your motor.
If you can not start the motor in this 20 second period, you can repeat this function until you start your motor.
Also Note, you can jump start with cables, and you only need the Positive ( + ) cable to jump start as the negative of both batteries are already connected.
