    Look, getting codes read is a great start. Anyone with a decent code reader can do that (and that's a lot of the forum). Being polite as I can, most auto-lecs I've met are competent to mostly mangle a wiring harness. There are people on the forum with slightly more diagnostic experience, particularly with the bastard love child between a Ford an a 1950's vehicle with Lucas electrics.

    Sorry i should of said earlier im a mechanic , i have good code readers and programmers.
    on checking into car i have found 2 pins broken off in the loom from the tcm as the plug was badly corroded .
    im going to get a replacement unit before i start chasing further issues .ta trev

    That sounds like the TCCM (transfer case control module) which isn't sealed and is a HS canbus gateway between the engine, gearbox and brake ecus and the rest of the car and which often has corroded connector pins and pcb contacts. The TCM (transmission control module) is located inside the gearbox.
