    Early D3 warranty issues

    Hi All,
A number of you have alluded to early warranty issues in the '05 & some '06 D3s.

I am aware of the front diff pinion leak but am not familiar with other issues.

I am considering buying an '05 D3, but don't know the build date.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Peter

We have a few customers with early build D3s and I wouldn't say there are any ongoing common issues. There was a customer satisfaction recall, but all should have been done by now.

If you can find out the VIN, it is easy to check if it has been done and if there is anything else outstanding.

    Peter,

I've got a Feb 05 build and it has had a few warranty problems which have been largely sorted over the past 2.5 years. The website below will help you find out many of the commonly known and lesser known issues of the D3. It does appear that later models years have less minor problems.

You'll also find a wealth of information on the D3 at this dedicated website.

There are no issues with the Disco3. I sit at work with nothing to do all day.

    104,000km - June 05 build

Compressor replaced at around 20,000km - but that was a known issue and a recall of sorts br LR should have corrected this for all vehicles.

Steering angle sensor at the same time. A very uncommon fault.

Front diff, which you know about.

That's pretty well it for me.

Most of the issues are well documented and LR is very good at fixing warranty issues.

(LR Assist on the other hand is (IMO) a complete waste of time.)
