    Question Redarc Smart Battery Controller

    Hello everyone,

I have one of these controllers from my cruiser and would like to fit it to my D3. I would like to know if anyone has fitted one to a D3 and if they have, have they had any issues with the Aux charging properly? I've checked the Redarc website and it appears there should be no problems. Any info you can give me is much appreciated. Thanks.

    Muppo,

I don't know about the Redarc but there is one aux controller on the market that has been tested by LR and deemed compatible with the D3's sophisticated systems. An incompatible controller will cause all sorts of system errors and you just don't want to go there.

I'm not affiliated with the company but their system works and has not caused owners problems. I have the controller fitted to my D3 (in fact I fitted 2 in my D3). The company is Traxide (advertiser on here) and you can contact Tim (aka Drivesafe on this forum).

Thanks fellas, I've read the threads on the SC40-LR and the SC80-LR but since I've already got the Redarc I was hoping not have to fork out more money if I didn't have to.

You could ask Redarc if they recommend their controller for the D3.

For myself, I went for the SC80-LR as its been tested & found suitable by LR.

To be honest, they are cheap compared to some others. The fact that a few people run them with no issues on a car with a charging system as sophisticated as the D3 would make me not want to take the risk of using anything else unless specifically known to have been tested on one as well!
