Can you please let me know which way round to fit the diode?

AND I'll have to see if can DIG UP the installation instructions.

    Best Wishes,
Bushwanderer, I was instructed to fit the diode with the stripped end toward the brake controller. I think that makes sense as you wish to prevent any signal coming back from the brake controller into the D3's systems.

    Regards,

Hi Chris, have just found this & the statement u make here (which is probably my fault trying to describe it to u in the first place!!) in Orange is incorrect!

The "diode" goes from the red wire coming from your brake controller to the tapped into connection to the Purple/green trace (from memory which is you brake light wire). Not to have any connection to your blue wire in any case, which is why u had problems earlier i would presume.

Sorry for not noticing, i have just returned from holidays in S.A.

I am hoping to fit one & show pics once i return to work.

I'm sure you can wire these controllers up and take a brake light signal from different locations some with no risk and maybe some with higher risk.

I'm happy to have fitted as per my Dealer's instructions. Thanks Sneigy.

    Hi Pete,
I do apologise for my ramblings..
Basically the red wire from your brake controller goes to the purple/green wire for your brake light pickup signal (As LR have instructed in the L/H/R 1/4 panel.). In between the connection of these 2 wires is placed the diode.
I do hope this is clearer...cant wait for the photo's....

    Pete,

Actually you instructed me correctly (I just checked the email we corresponded on) and I had wired it correctly - Brake controller RED wire to Diode to Purple/Green trace wire. What I typed in my post below was incorrect. Sorry to all for that.

    Regards,

    Chris
