    Me too!

I've got little gouges in all my wheel arch trims from branches and stuff. If they had been painted they would look really bad by now.

Well a young 'lady' in a new Prado decided to change lanes across the front of me. It split her rear drivers side wheel arch and the corner of the rear bumper and only left a scuff mark on my front wheel arch. Leave 'em unpainted I say.

Hate to pull the discussion away from painted wheel arches but does anyone have any info on possible power plant upgrades? Will the tdv8 ever get put into the disco or is that strictly reserved for the rr's?

The 3L TDV6 will make an appearance due to emission restrictions (at least in Euro-spec'd cars) and may have greater tuning potential than the 2.7. But the word is that the TDV8 will not be considered for the D3.

Mind you, you could always start a new project and let us know how it goes

    Cheers,

    Gordon

Who in their right mind would even consider to go for a TD in this climate?

With the price of diesel now up to .30 cents dearer than ULP it's a very long time before you begin to get your money back for paying a premium for the diesel engine.

Is the Diesel v's ULP position now swinging to ULP?

    Don't know

    What premium, Feral?

in 'S' spec, the TDV6 is only $2000 dearer than the V6

and in 'HSE' spec the TDV6 is $6000 cheaper than the V8

    mmmmm.....on those figures it easy.

The missing link is the SE. My mate bought a SE about November last year and he was stewing over how much to diesel. To him with his lease or whatever was looking at about $10,000.

I wasn't privy to all the facts and figures so I could not make a clear judgement call.

You certainly have to be a Nostradamus accountant these days to work it all out.

Maybe with a lease it's different.

Mine's not leased so I don't know about stuff like that either.

I suppose it comes back to what you want the car for, how many km you do etc. For me the diesel was the choice, but for others, I suppose the petrol may be the better option.

Hate to say it but LR need to leave the plastic parts unpainted. The off-road scratches are going to only look worse on the wheel arches and front bumper.

Hope that the colour coding is an option. Give me the raw plastic anyday.

Absolutely agree, even if I find the current dimpled black plastic a bugger to clean!

The 3L TDV6, any confirmation and time to come out? maybe worthwhile to wait for it a little bit
