In the city we get ~18 (not carefully driven) on 98 octane
As for second hand - the D3 is the first new vehicle I have ever bought for the very reason that second hand ones are like rocking horse pellets - rare!!

						Hi redfender
I have only had mine for a few weeks (2500Km of driving though) and on the open road I have been suprised, as WhiteD3 mentioned approx 10.5 to 11.5L/100Km (Av 82Km/hr, about 700Km to the tank), around town I have had nothing better than approx 17L - 20L /100Km (Av 35Km/hr, about 350-400Km to the tank).
I have always owned V6 sedans / wagons so it is fairly thirsty compared to those (probably the extra Ton or so!).
As to buying 2nd hand cannot help you there sorry, I had a fairly good look around and found that what I would spend on a 1-2 year old vehicle (and not knowing if it had been swimming or not) I was better off spending the extra fun tokens and getting a new one.
Cheers
Paul
PS fuel was standard unleaded

						Paul,
Give 98 octane a go. The extra cost will be more than offset by the economy and (supposedly) it's better for the engine.
By careful driving I mean that I don't let it rev above 2700 (max torque I think) when taking off. I'm not a slow driver by any means but I've had to teach myself to accelerate more slowly around town.

Thanks WhiteD3, I will do that for the next couple of tanks and let you know how the results go.
The other bias I might have with mine may be that it is still quite new and bedding in?
