Continental AT 18" Tyres - any feedback?

Hi, Its nearly time for new rubber (only going to get about 32,000 out of the original goodyears). After reading heaps of posts on 18" tyres I was heading for the General Grabber AT2's , called into the tyre dealer in Perth 2 days ago to take a look at them & he then showed me the "new" Continental ContiCrossContact AT tyres that he has only had for 3 weeks. They are in the original size of 255/60 R18 & rated 112T . He suggested they were quieter than the Grabbers and also a bit cheaper. So now I have another tyre to consider. From what I gather these tyres have been around a while in other sizes but have just been released in the 18" size. Their AT profile looks good. Question ,has anyone got any feedback on Continental tyres, what their wear rates are like , any pros/cons with where they go well or don't perform , as someone may have used them before in the 16" size in a previous life before D3.
Look forward to any feedback .

Also a very soft compound, Customers have used a few sets of these too, will last just as long as the goodyears if not less.
Yes thet are very quiet too.
Make great race tyres, but the compound for a 2.5T truck isnt quite there.

    Cheers

Is that km ? . Interesting that there is a class action in the USA about premature tire wear as personally I have never ever got less than 40,000 km from any tire ..... ever ...... and would expect more like a minimum of 65,000 km after all it is not like they are soft compound racing slicks but are normal road tires. The 40,000 km figure was many years ago with an Israli made very soft compound tyre on a heavy car.

    I was assuming Kilometers.
Boris, If u are expecting 65k Km's out of tyres on your D3? then good luck. I have yet to see a set go 40k km's.
    Cheers.

Yep its only 32,000 km , & mostly pretty gentle driving. I have read on some forums of people getting 40,000 + from the goodyears but the majority of people seem to only get 25,000 to 35,000km.
thanks for the info of the continentals having a softish compound , its the sort of info you can't find in the glossy adverts (or from tyre dealers).

97,000kms. 2 sets of Wranglers, 1 set of GG's half worn and now on MTR's (changed to 19" FFRR rims).
I do prefer softer rubber, better grip on the black stuff and more cut resistant off road.
I nearly 15 years of Discos I've only had one set of tyres for more than 30,000kms. They were a real problem (older tyres get more punctures and cut easier).
