Wheel bearings or diffs?
I've of a few diffs going - in fact they're hard to get hold of at the moment.

						The D3 is a TDV6 with Auto box no rear E diff.
Issue 1. I am experiencing a moderate shudder, not all the time, when accelerating, particularly coming out of corners, between say 30 - 50 KMH, if I back off it goes. Feels like wheel wobble but new tyres that have been balanced and it also occurred on the old set that were rebalanced.
Issue 2. I am getting a drumming sound, although not all the time, when the motor is maintaining load on the wheels, when I back off it goes.
Has anyone experienced these symptoms?
Could it be- wheel bearings
unbalanced tailshafts
gearbox ??????????????

If you use manual shift and aggressively brake the car to a halt using engine braking, does it sound worse? If so, probably not wheel bearings, but one of shaft, gearbox or diff

						Do you have the OEM Wranglers and are they worn.
That would explain drumming sound.

						GG; tested it today no vibrations in pulling up in gear, according to the D3 site it is not uncommon across a range of transmissions and some owners of D3's have it however doesn't seem to get any worse.
CaverD3; Tyres are BFG AT's 3 weeks old and the same sympton was happenein with the old tyres
I'll eliminate all the possibilities and see where I go to after that

Hello Richard, I get the same thing.
I've ruled out wheels, tyres, bushes, shocks etc. Seems to be some kind of engine characteristic to me.
I mostly get the shudder going up hill.
I even had the engine management software reloaded but to no avail.
Hopefully it's just one of those quirks like the farting aircon.

						Judging by the replies it seems quite common so I'll live with it but aware of it when lurking (read purving) under the car at any time

						1. Does turning DSC off make any difference?
2. Does using the gbox manually and using different gears make any difference?
The thought is that perhaps improper locking force is being applied to the centre diff due to a faulty sensor.
From the WSM...
"The locking torque calculations use various signals from other subsystems, for example, engine torque, throttle position, selected gear, steering angle, vehicle speed, lateral acceleration, yaw behaviour."
and
"The Dynamic Stability Control function of the ABS system can override the Terrain Response differential control and reduce any applied locking torque during DSC action."
