My MY07 TDV6 "s" has been faultless (touch wood). 40K klms, 15K of which was a Sydney Kimberleys circuit which included 4K of dirt/gravel and a couple of trips thru the Victorian High Country. Serviced recently (Trivett)with a clean bill of health.

I think they altered the CANBUS/software somewhere around 2007 to remove the likelihood of cascading errors.
A mate of mine has an '06 TDV6 SE, 60k on it and the only issue was pitting on the alloys wheel, which were fixed under warranty by LR.
Oops. Double post
I have to agree with Neil P.
go for the 07, but not the V8..get the TDV6.
Some of you will know me from another forum
and my D3 is an 05 model which has me worried as it has just run out of warranty.
Currently im waiting for front and rear diffs to be replaced under warranty,
the brake system is, hopefully, going to be extensively repaired next month
and the upper and lower steering shafts, along with a list of other parts, were replaced just before warranty ran out at 60k
As Jamo posted, mine is now at +160000Kms no major issues, every day I love driving it:D:D:D
So you know of 2 problem cars. I know of a lot more as I deal with problem Land Rovers every working day & I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if I could afford it.
Hi Norto, let me know when you're coming in & say gidday. The diffs should be here soon but the brake system problem is a bit of a worry. I would assume it can't be too bad as you're still using the car though (Peter B. has only mentioned it in passing to me).
G/Day Scott
I'll probably be early February when the tourist season quietens down
before i can get to Trivetts. BTW it's the best service iv'e had from a dealer.
Good to see you don't just work on Land Rovers, sounds like you are addicted like the rest of us.
Don't get me wrong, i love my D3. If i just wanted something to
tow with id buy Toyota or Nissan , they are reliable, but
they are soooo bland might as well own a Hyundai:)
Good to hear you say that you would own one.
Gives me more confidence for the future.
