(The electric park brake wasn't very well thought through though I must say).
Doesn't it have a cable release using the jack handle for those situations?

Thanks again everyone. Think a D3 of some description will be in the garage by the end of 09. Forest; I moved to sydney but if i end up with a 7 seater think the rear aircon would be a must. Big step up from the 2 seat Defender though.

I've had mine for just over 3 years, MY05 "S" with Air suspension, terrain response, Bi xenon roof rails and 7 seats as standard when I bought it as a demo.
Done 162000+ Kms and apart from some early suspension problems which I eventually tracked down to a faulty earth it has been a remarkably reliable car, beautiful to drive, I still look forward to driving it every day, very comfortable and may I say to my mind the most capable 4x4 off the showroom floor in the world.

So good I have this feeling that a new "S" with E locker is very close.
