My long term average for the TDV6 is 11.95lt/100km over the 86,399 km.
Stats: 10,327 litres of diesel @ an average of $1.32 per litre (roughly $13,600 worth of diesel)

SupporterMy '05 TDV6 consistently reads 10.4 around town (I'm a conservative driver), and on a recent Adelaide to Thredbo and return trip, with 4 adults and lots of luggage did 9.5 for the whole trip.
Pretty bloody good considering the alps terrain.
Three Adelaide/Melbourne return trips with two up has given 9.2 l/100 each time.
These figures from the trip computer...never tested actual consumption.

My D3 HSE TdV6 is 3 years old with 46k on the clock, and the economy has never been marvellous. I can get 9-10 l/100ks on the motorway at 100kph, but around town it averages around 13-14l/100ks, and sometime spikes to 17l/100k's. I live in a hilly area of Brisbane and I think with such a heavy body to haul around the hills do cause a significant reduction in fuel economy. It also doesn't pay to floor the accelerator too much, power needs to be feed in smoothly to avoid turbo lag especially from standstill. Having said that, I've heard the TdV6 is punchier than the petrol V6, and not far off the V8 (except off the line where the V8 is much quicker).

My 08 V6 trip computer typically shows around 14.5 to 15 l/100km. Mostly used for commuting around Perth at peak periods, so a fair amount of stop start driving, with a long trip (200 to 800km) at least once a month. The consumption on the long trips can drop as low as 10 l/100km.
1/2008 TDV6 SE
On my daily run into work and back approx 80Km Highway 95 - 110Km/H and 20Km Canberra driving I have the following from my trip Computer.
No Bull Bar no Roof rack 9.5 L/100Km
ARB Winch Bar added 10.2 L/100Km
Wind Cheetah Roof Rack added. 10.5 L/100Km
On long trips at 100 Km/H I had got down as low as 8.0 L/100Km and with the roof rack fully loaded we still got less than 12l/100KM.

Hi All
I have just purchased a 2006 tdv6 s no trip meter but I have done 2 highway trips (plus approx 50 ks of city driving on each trip) to date to the same destination apart from small variation. The vehicle had two persons on board. no extra load. Refilling at the same pump (To 3 clicks of the auto cutoff) same service station after each trip the results so far are as follows
Trip 1 584 Ks 56 litres = 9.589
Trip 2 599 Ks 58.2 litres = 9.716
I used cruise control set at 100Ks per hour, it will be interesting to see if I can maintain this consistancey. Happy so far
Howard
I get < 9.5L on highway @ ~ 100kph, 11-12L around town and 10-11L towing on Highway...
Thats on a TDV6...
TDV6 with roof bars and ARB bullbar.
City:-11.5 to 12 L/100Km
Hwy:-9 to 9.5 L/100Km (110-120 kph)
When calculating fuel economy, don't use the display as it is at least 10% over-optomistic.
I have travelled nearly 100k in my MY06 TDV6 SE and I have never even got near to some the figures quoted.
I have done long highway (flat) trips at 100 kmh (checked with GPS) and with the AC off and have only cracked the 10l/100 kms just twice and only just. My worst for a tank is 25.90 l/100 kms. I have a detailed spreadsheet with all my fuel purchases and driving conditions from day one. I have averaged 11.75 l/ 100 kms. My average distance per tank is 618 kms with an average fill of 72.53 litres.
I don't drive the D3 agressively or excessively speed on the road (no speeding tickets in that time).
I would be interested in seeing another D3's full fuel useage history, not an odd tank here and there.
