    tdv6 oilfilter

    G'day,
First post. thought I would change my oil and filter 1st time in my TDV6. Looks like the filter has to come out of the canister first to line up bypass? How does it come out? Is this filter on the top under the plastic cover the only one? I ask because I had a Jackaroo previously and that had two. Also, what is the preferred oil?
    Thanks for any help,
    Luxman

    Hello luxman

just use a screwdriver to lever the filter out of the housing. Then put the new filter onto the motor and line up the spiggot thingy. Then screw the cover back on and tighten to 25Nm.

The torque for the drain plug is the same. The seal for the drain plug needs to be replaced.

The oil to use is Castrol Edge 5W30. You'll need about 6 litres or so.

    There's only the one filter.

yer 6.2 will have it showing as spot on with the engine hot, but the next day after its been sitting for a wile it will of come up the stick alot, so put in 5.8 if your really picky about levels

any real good Brand fully syn 5w30 will do, but yer id stay with castrol,
