    Halogen headlamp bulb upgrade

    Hi,
Has anybody upgraded the wattage of their headlamp bulbs? Are there any problems with heat and the plastic units. I am going to fit a Traxide wiring upgrade kit and was wondering about upping the bulb wattage also.
    Thanks

I went for Osram Nightbreaker 90+ bulbs imported directly from England approx $40 a pair including postage,

    Same wattage, just more light.

Osram Night Breaker H7 from Power Bulbs | Free Worldwide Delivery

Takes about a week to get here.

    Phillips Chrystal Vision

My D3 has Xenon lights with Halogen parkers and highbeam fill in. I was not happy with the yellow light produced by the halogen lights compared to the xenon.

So I changed the Halogen lights with Phillips Chrystal Vision 4300 k lights which phillips claim to match the output of the xenon lights.

I am happy with the result. The phillips website claims they are not road legal in all of aus but i figured i would run the gauntlet.

Installing an aftermarket xenon kit is dead easy in the D3s with haolgen bulbs.

I upgraded my Dad's RRS and it was about 30mins work for both lights.

Because the D3 haolgen lights are projector lights the light pattern doesn't change when you install xenon bulbs.

When I did my FL2 (which doesn't have projector lights) the pattern changed significantly which means other driver occasionally flash their lights at me. No such problem with the RRS \ D3.

    Dont up the wattage...

You'll do nothing but blow globes from the heat and ruin the housing and lenses...

Get a H7 HID kit No need for a loom upgrade.
