The Trade Practices Act provides for an implied warranty, irrespective of the express warranty provided for by the manufacturers. The provisions of the TPA are also echoed in the various state fair trading acts. Basically you're covered for 'use for which it's intended', driveability and safety issues. Common Law has held that this may extend up to 10 years from purchase.

LRCA have been very good about it and have called regularly to let me know of the progress.
Well done, maybe LR are learning about Customer Relationships finally and is it Mr Tata

OMG. Glad its all worked out.
As you said the implied warranty clause is an interesting area and more people need to know about it and is probablly why companies like Hyundai and Mitsubishi are offering 5 year warranties, because they know they are bound.
