Tried it with the jack today...worked fine. Got ~25mm extra height..is this right? The manual doesn't give the height in extended mode.

Specs say:
Mode mm Access/Crawl -50 Onroad 0 Offroad 55 Extended 90 Manual Extend 125
but you'll probably find you don't even get +55mm to Offroad anyway. I think there is a difference between this trick and really grounding it, as it knows the wheels haven't spun.

Absolutely no doubt about that. Better than sticking bits of wood in there though. for low speed offroad/rock hopping or similar, is an option.
