    Installation weekend coming up

Have got a couple of things to install in the D3 this weekend

Traxide dual battery setup with fusebox and extra 12v plugs - thanks Tim
    Amp-tech d48 battery - supercharge in Sunshine (very good value - $160)

Icom ic440 UHF and antenna - prestige - very quick service and good pricing

Just need to do all this while the Mr's isn't looking

You'll just love the white gooey stuff under the door seals. Thats if you are running a cable to the rear? Did mine a couple of weeks ago and that was the worst part about it.

Took a while but all working.

Didn't get round to doing the 12v outlets but managed the UHF install, fusebox and 2nd battery. If I get some time next weekend, will look at doing the 12v sockets.

2nd battery setup was the quickest by far due to the excellent instructions provided with it. Modifying the bracket was a bit of a hack job but it works..

Manage to run the power and antenna cable under the carpet in the drivers footwell, there is a space there.

Only mistake I've made which set me back was running the antenna cable then working out that you needed to thread it through the antenna bracket first.. Getting the antenna cable through the firewall insulation was fun to.

I put the fusebox and UHF under the drivers set in a plastic container.

Sorry for the delay with the photos. Not sure it will come out real clear but imagine a radio and fuse box attached inside a plastic container for some basic protection.

Also ran the additional 12v sockets today.

Spent a while tossing up whether to mod the plastic insert (cut hole) or run the cable out the side. Ended up going with running the cable outside as all the mods I do to the car I want to be able to remove easily when I sell it. Didn't have any ribbed cable cover but will tidy that up next weekend. Only mod to the plastic insert was 1 screw through the top that you cant see to hold the inner frame which the sockets are mounted in. Pretty solid and works well. If it does end up annoying me, I'll change it around and run it through the console somewhere.
