    Cleaning the TDV6 Motor

    Has anyone either pressure washed or hosed their TDV6 motor without the top cover on if so any problems?

    hav noprobs,, just dont get to close with the gerny,, thats wen u force water into conectors,,, but other then that,,, hose it down,,, an let it dry for a little bit, with the bonit open,, and best to do it when the engine is cold, and you should be rite

    I guess it depends on how powerful the pressure washer is, but I've heard of people getting water into the module behind the battery case - think it's the transmission module, but can't remember.

    If you need to wash sensitive things spray some CT-18 mix, leave awhile, then rinse off with a gentle spray. Works wonders. Absolutely no pressure required.

    We steam/pressure wash ours all the time (though we usually have the cover on). It's also usually done with a hot engine and we keep the engine running while we're doing it.

    Don't spray behind the battery box with a high pressure wash. You will get the transmission modules wet and they are not water proof.
    I know of a dealer who killed one whilst cleaning acustomers car.
    I have sprayed mine with plastic spray.

    Exactly, I was lucky and it dried out fine after 8 hours of nail biting

    ONLY wet down the engine bay, NOT over into the ECU compartment on the passenger side
