    What he drives .............

I recall that JC bought a 2yr old Black RR TDV8 Vogue with 20000ml for
something like 55% of the new price( couple of years ago ). He acclaimed this as somewhat of a bargain at the time , and still owns it.
Our LCT system makes this a non-starter here ...........
This is the way I would go also , if I moved back to the UK.
Those D3 owners that I know , who have changed to RR , have not
    regretted it.

I find it very amusing that 5 years on , JC still hasn't realised that
the "seat base tip lever" is under the seat side .......
    ...... and is still a one-hand-job , as before .....
He didn't keep his dark green Toyota Sahara(Amazon) for long.
Ugly POS Schoolbus , that got stuck on an easy track , as he
    recalled. Remember the TG episode ? ( '04 ish , I think ..... )

    Yep.
    Enjoyed it.

It actually does have some thruth to it.

End of the day though- I like them and allthough rather a Rangie, as he said, the budget talks louder than the heart.

    He certainly is a character.
I remember a comment he made about one of the Land Rovers (not a defender), that you didn't have to worry about hills, it was so heavy that they just flattened out as you drove over them.
To demonstrate, he then proceeded to drive this thing up some pristine heath-land to the top of a hill where I thought it most inappropriate to take a vehicle, but it could have been private farm land, so I guess they can do with it what they want.
    cheers

I picked up on the wish that "I really wanted a RR". Having just bought a 5yo D3 and finding what a revelation it is compared to previous models, I don't imagine a RR would be that great a jump?

Also, the RR model he talks about is the L322 which I have no experience of but imagine it to be a cushier version of the D3. Come to think of it, it pre-dates the D3 so, maybe an X5?

It would be nice to do a technical appreciation of the various models, maybe if I get more friendly with the local dealer...
