    D4 Interior trim options

Apologies if this subject is a little trite for this forum, but I need some advice on interior trim options.

I have recently taken the plunge and ordered a D4. SWMBO wanted a luxury car with all the trimmings, so to make the sale on the D4 over other SUV's, I've ordered the HSE with the Almond leather. We all went away happy with our decision and I thought no more of it, but my colour consultant (read SWMBO) realised the other night that there are interior trim options

It seems that, regardless of the choice of Ebony or Almond leather, the standard trim on the HSE is "Meteor Metallic Finish". As an option, you can choose "Straight Grain Walnut" or "Grand Black Lacquer". I figure our options are the standard trim or the Walnut trim, as the Black trim isn't going to sit well with the Almond leather that we have selected. SWMBO isn't a fan of wood in cars, so she is leaning towards the standard Meteor metallic trim, but is concerned that it will clash with the Arabica

Ever the dutiful hubby, I thought I would investigate these options so that I have continue to have a happy (and satisfying ) marriage. And here lies my problem. My local dealer only has black leather cars and isn't getting any others for some time and I can't find any photos of the interior with the standard Meteor Metallic trim. I've asked my dealer, I've looked on the LR AU site, asked my dealer again, googled it, but nothing .

My question is, should we stick with the standard trim, or go with the Walnut trim?

So please, if anyone can give me some advice, or even better, has some photos of the HSE interior with Almond leather and the standard trim, I would really appreciate any help that you can provide.

    Thanks.

I cant offer any help but you have my sympathy. When we ordered our D3 we wanted the Tundra interior as we didnt want black and thought the cream wouldnt be as good with the kids. Do you think I could find an accurate picture or a vehicle with it fitted..... In the end we just ordered it and are happy with the result. It's really annoying how the dealers only order some colour schemes. After seeing mine they ordered their next demo in the same scheme.
On the D3 they had recommended schemes in the brochure, maybe this might be of some help.

    Regards,
    Tote

Thanks Tote. We have been left in exactly the same quandry with kids vs. black. Unfortunately Tundra doesn't seem to be an option on the D4.

I've got a call in with LR Australia now as well. Hopefully they are more helpful than the dealer I am "dealing" with.

As the old saying goes...Happy Wife = Happy Life! So I'd get whatever she likes...

Though I'm presonally a big fan of the Almond and would have thought the Walnut trim would look awesome...Our D2 is finished in the light tan/sand leather with the walnut highlights on the doors, under the glove box and it copes well with our 5 kids...I just got myself a decent leather cleaner and leather conditioner this has kept it looking as good as new - so far!

If they haven't taken it off the net, & I haven't checked, Google Discovery 3 & look at the Land Rover site. There is a section called interiors that you can click/select different colour schemes & it brings up a photo.
I know the D3 & D4 have different interiors but it may be of some help.

BTW We didn't get a choice, it was so late in the D3 production run they had 2 exterior colours & 1 interior colour.

Thanks for the advice Jonesfam. Yes, I tried the LR AU and international sites. Neither have the almond with the arabica and meteor pictured which, according to the AU brochure, seems to be the standard with the AU HSE.

Still no joy with LR AU, although they are following it up for me

Ah well, I think we () are leaning towards the walnut trim.

PS if anyone has any photos of a D4 HSE with standard trim, I would still love to see one.

    Thanks again.

The LR Aust web-site shows the various interior options, with the 1st picture being Almond/Arabica cloth. In enlarged form the std door trim can be seen and compared with the 2nd picture showing Almond/Arabica in leather and walnut trim. Note that the cloth trim does not have Arabica door tops.

    photos

    Hi pjvdl
Have a look in my gallery,(best I could).
I was told that arabic is not an option on almond leather for door tops in aussie spec, dash top is though. THe metalic grey is fairly dark.
Hope this helps, what ever you get, won't disappoint you.
    Its an awesome machine

We had a D4 HSE rock up today. I'll take my camera on Monday & take some interior shots for you. It's Zermatt Silver so I think it has black seats - not too sure about the rest though.

Thanks heaps for these Roamer. They are the first photos showing the Almond interior that I've seen other than the standard marketing materials with the Walnut and Arabica, so they are just what I've been looking for.

I must say that I'm a little confused that the top of the door trim is in the Nutmeg, as the LR AU brochure states that the door trim and dash are in Arabica. Having said that, I'm not surprised as I think the Meteor might clash a little with the Arabica.

I must say that the Meteor looks good with the Nutmeg and Almond.

Seeing photos of yours is making me very jealous I can't wait until our's arrives

I'm happy now - I've done my bit and got the information SWMBO needs. Now I can leave the difficult bit (the decision) to my her

Thanks again all. This is a great, very informative forum.
